Ingredients

For the Fritter Bites
  • 1 can Nonstick cooking spray Prevents sticking to the baking sheet; can substitute with parchment paper.
  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour Provides structure and texture; using gluten-free flour can create a gluten-free version.
  • 2 tsp Baking powder Acts as a leavening agent to make fritters fluffy.
  • 0.5 tsp Kosher salt Enhances flavor; table salt can be used as a substitute.
  • 2 tsp Ground cinnamon Infuses warm spice flavor; nutmeg could be a substitute for a different spice profile.
  • 0.25 cups Unsalted butter Adds richness and moisture; coconut oil can be used for a dairy-free option.
  • 0.25 cups Granulated sugar Provides sweetness; can substitute with brown sugar for a deeper flavor.
  • 1 large Egg Binds the ingredients; for egg-free, use a flax or chia egg.
  • 0.5 tsp Vanilla extract Adds a sweet aromatic depth; omit if necessary for allergies.
  • 0.5 cups Unsweetened applesauce Adds moisture and apple flavor; substitute with pureed pumpkin for variation.
  • 1.5 cups Finely diced Honeycrisp or Gala apples Main flavor component; any sweet apple variety can be used.
For the Glaze
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar For glaze sweetness; substitute with erythritol for a low-sugar option.
