  • 4 large Eggs Use fresh for the best flavor
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Can substitute with half-and-half
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese (Cheddar, Gruyere, or Cheddar) Use your favorite cheese or dairy-free alternative
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly ground preferred
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Thyme (Chopped) Can substitute with rosemary or oregano
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Chives (Chopped) Green onions can be used as a substitute
For the Pastry
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Ensure it’s thawed before use
  • 1 tablespoon Butter (for greasing) Can be replaced with cooking spray
For the Garnish
  • to taste Fresh Parsley (for garnish) Recommended for a lovely presentation

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather your ingredients while the oven heats up.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into rectangles or circles.
  3. Butter the insides of your baking dish or ramekins to prevent sticking.
  4. Place the pastry in the prepared dishes, pressing down slightly to fit.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and heavy cream until smooth. Add salt, pepper, thyme, and chives.
  6. Stir in most of the shredded cheese, saving some for topping.
  7. Pour the egg mixture into the pastry shells, filling them almost to the top.
  8. Sprinkle the reserved cheese over each filled pastry.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and the eggs are set.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
  11. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
