Step-by-Step Instructions for BBQ Grilled Prawns
  1. Start by cleaning and deveining your fresh prawns, ensuring to remove the shells while leaving the tails intact. Rinse under cold water and pat dry.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, optional chili flakes, lemon zest, and fresh lemon juice. Whisk together until well blended.
  3. Toss the cleaned prawns in the marinade, ensuring they're evenly coated. Let them sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Preheat your grill to high heat, approximately 280°C (550°F). Make sure the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled.
  5. Once the grill is hot, arrange the marinated prawns on the grates. Grill for 2-4 minutes on each side until the shells turn pink and the meat becomes pearly white.
  6. Remove the cooked prawns from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
