Step-by-Step Instructions for Sweet & Tart Vegan Rhubarb Compote
  1. Prepare the ingredients by washing and chopping rhubarb into small chunks. Gather your other ingredients before starting.
  2. Combine chopped rhubarb, sugar, orange zest, orange juice, and cardamom in a saucepan. Stir and let it sit for a few minutes.
  3. Heat the mixture while stirring occasionally to dissolve sugar and release rhubarb juices. Cook for about 5 minutes.
  4. Continue cooking for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently until the compote thickens and reaches your desired consistency.
  5. Cool the compote in the saucepan for about 15 minutes, then transfer to a jar for storage.
