  • 4-5 cloves Garlic finely chopped

  • 0.5 tablespoon Cornstarch for thickening the sauce
For the Sauce Mix
  • 1/3 cup Water use cold for mixing cornstarch

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • large skillet
  • Colander
  • Slotted spoon
  • Small bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, add your chopped broccoli florets and allow them to cook for 3–5 minutes, until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Drain the broccoli in a colander to prevent overcooking.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Once shimmering, add the chopped bacon and fry until crispy and golden, about 5–7 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. Lower the heat to medium-low and add the finely chopped garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 1–2 minutes until golden and fragrant. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water until smooth, then pour into the skillet and stir quickly to thicken for about 10 seconds.
  4. Add the drained broccoli and crispy bacon back into the skillet, tossing gently to coat everything in the garlic sauce. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes to heat through.
  5. Transfer your Garlic Sauce Broccoli with Bacon to a serving platter. Best enjoyed freshly made.
