Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by melting ¼ cup of chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl for about 30 seconds or until smooth, stirring halfway through. Take your pretzel rods and dip the ends into the melted chocolate, ensuring they’re well-coated. Next, roll the chocolate-covered ends in dried coconut flakes to create 'broom bristles.' Set them aside on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for the chocolate to harden, which will take about 10 minutes.
- Select your favorite mini donuts and place them on a clean surface or a decorative platter for easy assembly. Using skewers, pierce a mini donut through the center from the bottom to create a 'broom' look. Gently press down until the donut is securely positioned to resemble the top of a broomstick.
- Once the chocolate on the broomsticks has set, take the prepared pretzel rods and insert one into each donut. Push the pretzel into the center of the donut, ensuring it's sturdy and balanced. If desired, add a touch of melted chocolate on top of each donut to hold festive sprinkles.
- Arrange the completed broomstick skewers on a decorative platter or a Halloween-themed serving board. Allow each skewer to stand upright for a captivating visual display.
