Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Wonton Soup
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, finely sliced green onions, minced ginger, and minced garlic. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  2. Lay out your fresh wonton wrappers on a clean workspace. Place about a teaspoon of the pork and shrimp filling in the center of each wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges of each wonton wrapper with a little water using your fingertip. Carefully fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle shape.
  4. Bring a large pot filled with chicken broth to a rolling boil. Gently drop the sealed wontons into the simmering broth and cook for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. After the wontons have cooked, add your chosen greens into the pot. Stir gently, allowing the greens to wilt for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Taste the broth and adjust seasoning if needed, adding more salt or pepper to suit your preference.
  7. Ladle the steaming Wonton Soup into bowls, ensuring each serving has a good amount of wontons and greens. Drizzle optional chili oil over each bowl.
