Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Vanilla Milk Tea
  1. Begin by slicing the vanilla bean in half lengthwise. Scrape the seeds into a small pot and add the empty pod.
  2. Pour 1 cup of fresh, cold water into the pot and bring it to a gentle boil. Turn off the heat, add the black tea bag, and cover the pot.
  3. Let it steep for about 5 minutes to meld the flavors.
  4. Carefully remove the tea bag and vanilla bean pod from the pot. If you used loose tea, strain through a fine mesh sieve.
  5. Stir in 1 teaspoon of sugar or honey, adjusting sweetness to your liking.
  6. Heat 1/4 cup of milk in a small saucepan until warm, then froth if desired. Pour over the tea mixture.
  7. Pour your Vanilla Milk Tea into a mug and enjoy the warm drink.
