Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pound the chicken to a uniform thickness of about 1/4-inch and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Layer two slices of Swiss cheese and two slices of ham on each chicken breast.
  4. Roll the chicken breasts tightly and secure with toothpicks.
  5. Set up a dredging station with flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs.
  6. Coat each chicken roll first with flour, then dip in the eggs, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat a mixture of butter and olive oil in a skillet and brown the chicken rolls for about 5 minutes.
  8. Transfer the browned chicken rolls to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  9. Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, then slowly add milk until thickened.
  10. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and Dijon mustard to the sauce, seasoning as desired.
  11. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing and drizzling with the creamy sauce.
