- Prepare all your ingredients: peel and dice potatoes and carrots, finely chop onion, mince garlic, chop dill, and slice scallions.
- In a large pot, melt butter over medium-low heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until translucent.
- Add diced carrots and scallions, sauté for another 2 minutes until they soften.
- Season with salt, pepper, marjoram, nutmeg, turmeric, and bay leaf. Stir well to combine.
- Add potatoes and frozen peas, pour in chicken broth, bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes until potatoes are tender.
- Remove from heat, mix in sour cream until silky, then add dill and cook uncovered for an additional 5 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning then serve hot, garnished with chopped dill.
