  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning Use a store-bought option if desired
For the Tortillas
  • 8 pieces Corn Tortillas Fry until golden and crispy
  • 2 cups Oil (Canola or Vegetable) Neutral oil for frying
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup Chopped Lettuce Romaine or iceberg
  • 1 cup Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese Cheddar, Monterey Jack, or queso fresco
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Can be swapped with Greek yogurt
  • Custom Toppings Avocado, jalapeños, hot sauce, or salsa

Method
 

Preparation of Toppings
  1. Chop fresh lettuce, dice tomatoes, and grate cheese. This takes about 15 minutes.
Cooking the Beef
  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes until no pink remains. Add taco seasoning and water, simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Frying the Tortillas
  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry corn tortillas for about 3 minutes on each side until crispy.
Assembling the Tacos
  1. Layer beef in each crispy tortilla, add cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. Drizzle with sour cream or favorite toppings.
