Ingredients

For the Drink
  • 2 cups cantaloupe ripe for best sweetness and flavor
  • 1 cup cucumber fresh and firm
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice freshly squeezed for zesty kick
  • 2 cups sparkling water or club soda
For the Garnish
  • 1 sprig mint leaves for fresh aromatic touch

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Fine Mesh Sieve
  • Large pitcher
  • Spatula
  • glasses

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by washing your fresh cucumber and ripe cantaloupe thoroughly. Slice the cucumber into small pieces, about 1-inch in size. Cut the cantaloupe in half, scoop out the seeds, and dice it into similarly sized chunks.
  2. In a blender, combine the diced cantaloupe and cucumber. Blend on high for about 30-45 seconds, or until the mixture achieves a smooth, creamy consistency.
  3. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher. Use a spatula to push the liquid through, leaving behind any pulp.
  4. Stir in freshly squeezed lime juice to the pitcher. Start with about one tablespoon, and mix well, tasting as you go.
  5. Fill clear glasses with ice cubes. Pour the silky mixture over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full.
  6. Top each glass with sparkling water or club soda, pouring slowly to maintain the bubbles.
  7. Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh mint and a slice of cucumber on the rim.
