Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8.5-by-4.5-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray, or line it with parchment paper.
- Melt 1 stick of unsalted butter in a light-colored sauté pan over medium heat, stirring frequently for 5-7 minutes until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma. Allow it to cool slightly.
- In a medium bowl, mash 3 ripe bananas until smooth, then add 3 large eggs and mix until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of dark brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of kosher salt, and ½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg.
- Gently fold the dry mixture into the banana and egg mixture, then pour in the slightly cooled brown butter until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top. Decoratively place the halved banana on top and sprinkle with dark brown sugar.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 70-80 minutes. After 70 minutes, use a toothpick to check for doneness. The top should be golden brown and slightly domed.
- Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack for complete cooling. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes
Ensure the brown butter cools slightly before mixing to prevent scrambling the eggs. Overripe bananas ensure maximum sweetness and moisture.
