Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  3. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients on low speed until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dough for at least 2 hours.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  6. Drop rounded balls of dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  7. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
