- Bring 4 cups of chicken broth to a rolling boil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Gradually whisk in 1 cup of stone-ground grits to the simmering chicken broth and stir continuously for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Remove the pan from heat, stir in 1 cup of heavy cream, 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, and 1 cup of shredded sharp white cheddar cheese.
- Season 1 pound of shrimp with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and Cajun seasoning. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet.
