Preparing the Sorbet
- Juice fresh lemons until you have 1 cup of juice and chop fresh basil leaves finely.
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with ¾ cup of granulated sugar over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Add lemon juice and basil to cooled sugar syrup and stir until well combined.
- Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
- Churn the mixture in an ice cream maker for about 20-30 minutes until soft-serve consistency is achieved.
- Scoop into an airtight container and freeze for a few hours before serving.
