Method
 

Preparing the Sorbet
  1. Juice fresh lemons until you have 1 cup of juice and chop fresh basil leaves finely.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with ¾ cup of granulated sugar over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add lemon juice and basil to cooled sugar syrup and stir until well combined.
  4. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  5. Churn the mixture in an ice cream maker for about 20-30 minutes until soft-serve consistency is achieved.
  6. Scoop into an airtight container and freeze for a few hours before serving.
