  • ¼ teaspoon Kosher Salt Sea salt can be used as an alternative.
  • 1 cup Milk Non-dairy options like almond or oat milk are great substitutes.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Vanilla extract is best.
  • 4 cups Peaches Fresh peaches are recommended, but frozen can do.
  • ¼ cup Maple Syrup Adjust the amount to fit your taste preference.

Equipment

  • baking dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Saucepan

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and place a 9x13 inch baking dish in the oven to melt ½ cup of salted butter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, ¾ cup of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and ¼ teaspoon of kosher salt. Gradually stir in 1 cup of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until combined.
  3. In another bowl, slice about 4 cups of fresh peaches and toss with ¼ cup of brown sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup.
  4. Layer half of the peach mixture evenly over the melted butter. Pour the batter on top of the peaches without stirring. Top with the remaining peaches.
  5. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, until edges are golden brown and center is set.
  6. Prepare the maple butter by combining ¼ cup of butter and ¼ cup of maple syrup in a saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil and simmer for about 2 minutes.
  7. Once baked, let cool slightly and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with maple butter.
