  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice Fresh lime juice can replace lemon
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley Other herbs like dill can be used
  • 1 tbsp Capers Chopped green olives can substitute if capers are unavailable

  • 1 clove Optional Garlic Clove Omit for a milder flavor

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Drain the sardines and transfer them into a mixing bowl, breaking them apart slightly.
  2. Add the softened cream cheese to the sardines and mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. Stir in the Dijon mustard thoroughly, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.
  4. Add lemon juice, chopped parsley, and capers (and garlic if using), stirring well.
  5. Mash the mixture more vigorously or use a hand mixer for a smoother consistency.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, mixing and tasting until just right.
  7. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
  8. Serve with assorted crackers or fresh vegetable sticks.
