For the Herb Spread
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup Greek yogurt can be replaced with plant-based yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons chives finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon dill chopped
  • 1 pinch black pepper ground
For the Sandwich
  • 2 slices whole wheat bread can substitute with artisan or sourdough bread
  • 1-2 units tomato ripe, sliced
  • to taste flaky sea salt optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, Greek yogurt, chives, dill, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Toast the whole wheat bread for about 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Slice the tomatoes into ¼-inch rounds.
  4. Spread the herb mixture on one side of each slice of bread.
  5. Layer the tomato slices on one piece of bread, sprinkling with flaky sea salt if desired.
  6. Top with the second slice of bread, herb side down, and press gently.
  7. Cut the sandwich diagonally into halves or quarters for serving.
