Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Glutinous Rice Cakes with Sweet Black Sesame Filling
  1. Soak the rice for 8 to 12 hours after rinsing until water runs clear.
  2. Steam the drained rice in a bamboo steamer for 30 to 40 minutes until tender.
  3. Blend roasted black sesame and sugar in a food processor, mix with melted lard until creamy.
  4. Knead the cooled steamed rice until smooth and divide into 30-40g portions.
  5. Flatten each portion, place filling in the center, fold and seal the edges.
  6. Fry the formed cakes in oil over medium heat until golden and crispy on both sides.
