Cupcake Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners. Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder in a bowl.
- In another bowl, mix eggs, milk and oil. Gradually combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients, stirring gently until just blended.
- Spoon batter into cupcake liners, filling them two-thirds full. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes clean. Cool for 5 minutes in the tin, then transfer to a wire rack.
Frosting Preparation
- Prepare frosting by beating butter and powdered sugar until fluffy. Gradually add cream and vanilla, beating until smooth. Mix in food coloring until desired hue is achieved.
Cupcake Decoration
- Frost cooled cupcakes generously with black frosting, creating swirls for decoration. Top with bat decorations and sprinkles.
Serving
- Display cupcakes on a platter and enjoy! Best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
