Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and cook ground beef for about 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the baking dish and layer thinly sliced potatoes on top.
  5. Season the potato layer with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan cheese over the potatoes and pour beef broth around the edges.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
