Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a stand mixer, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Pour in warm milk and melted butter. Mix until smooth for 4-5 minutes.
  2. Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot for 30-60 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 450°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Punch down dough, divide into 12 pieces, and shape into ropes.
  4. Boil water and add baking soda. Drop pretzel bites in for 30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon and place on sheets.
  5. Whisk together egg and water for wash. Brush on bites and sprinkle with salt. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
  6. Cool slightly on a wire rack and serve warm with honey mustard sauce.
