Ingredients

For the Truffles
  • 1 package Lemon Oreo Cookies or regular Oreo cookies for a classic flavor
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese at room temperature for easier mixing
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Zest optional but recommended for extra zestiness
For the Coating
  • 1 cup White Candy Melts can substitute with chocolate or dark candy melts
  • 0.5 cup Yellow Candy Melts optional for visual appeal

Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Mixing bowl
  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • Microwave

Method

Making the Truffles
  1. Crush the Oreos in a food processor until fine crumbs form, about 1-2 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine crushed Oreos, softened cream cheese, and optional lemon zest. Mix until smooth and well-incorporated, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Scoop about one tablespoon of the mixture and roll into a ball, placing it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Freeze truffles for at least 30 minutes until firm.
  5. Melt white and yellow candy melts in the microwave at 30-second intervals until smooth.
  6. Dip each truffle in the melted candy coating, allowing excess to drip off before returning to the baking sheet.
  7. Drizzle remaining melted candy over coated truffles for decoration.
  8. Refrigerate coated truffles for 5-10 minutes until the coating is set.
