Making the Truffles
- Crush the Oreos in a food processor until fine crumbs form, about 1-2 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine crushed Oreos, softened cream cheese, and optional lemon zest. Mix until smooth and well-incorporated, about 2-3 minutes.
- Scoop about one tablespoon of the mixture and roll into a ball, placing it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Freeze truffles for at least 30 minutes until firm.
- Melt white and yellow candy melts in the microwave at 30-second intervals until smooth.
- Dip each truffle in the melted candy coating, allowing excess to drip off before returning to the baking sheet.
- Drizzle remaining melted candy over coated truffles for decoration.
- Refrigerate coated truffles for 5-10 minutes until the coating is set.
