Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by taking your fresh salmon fillets and patting them dry with paper towels. Generously season both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Set aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and drizzle in some olive oil. Carefully place the seasoned salmon fillets in the hot skillet. Sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add unsalted butter. Allow the butter to melt, then add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release bits. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Return the seared salmon to the skillet, allowing it to heat through for about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and rinsed capers. Let simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve hot, garnished as desired.
