Equipment

  • Oven or Air Fryer
  • Medium saucepan
  • Baking Sheet or Air Fryer Basket

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven or air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a baking sheet or air fryer basket lined with parchment paper.
  2. Spread the frozen French fries evenly on the prepared baking sheet or air fryer basket, and cook according to package instructions, typically 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in all-purpose flour, stirring continuously for about 2 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  4. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking constantly. Cook until the sauce thickens and bubbles, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, ranch seasoning, and cayenne. Reduce heat, then gradually stir in the cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Transfer the hot fries to a serving platter and drizzle the creamy cheese sauce over the top. Optional: Sprinkle extra cayenne for a spicy finish.
  7. Serve immediately while the fries are hot and crisp.
