Step-by-Step Instructions for Mushroom and Swiss Burger Casserole
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat a splash of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add chopped onions and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté for another 5-7 minutes until the onions are translucent and the mushrooms are tender. Add minced garlic for an additional minute.
- Return the beef and vegetable mixture to the skillet. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and beef broth. Allow to simmer for about 5 minutes, then mix in sour cream.
- Cube the hamburger buns and layer them in a greased casserole dish. Pour the beef mixture over the buns and top with Swiss cheese.
- Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
