Step-by-Step Instructions for Mushroom and Swiss Burger Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat a splash of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add chopped onions and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté for another 5-7 minutes until the onions are translucent and the mushrooms are tender. Add minced garlic for an additional minute.
  4. Return the beef and vegetable mixture to the skillet. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and beef broth. Allow to simmer for about 5 minutes, then mix in sour cream.
  5. Cube the hamburger buns and layer them in a greased casserole dish. Pour the beef mixture over the buns and top with Swiss cheese.
  6. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
