For the Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Creamy Peanut Butter Opt for smooth variety for best texture.
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce Regular or low sodium works.
  • 1 tablespoons Chili Oil Adjust based on heat preference.
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese Black Vinegar or Rice Vinegar Rice vinegar is a great substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated Sugar Essential for rounding out flavors.
For the Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Cilantro or Green Onions Optional topping to enhance freshness.

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Mixing bowl
  • Colander
  • Whisk or fork

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Start by bringing a large pot of water to a rapid boil over high heat. Add the noodles and cook according to package instructions, usually around 5 minutes.
  2. While the noodles are cooking, combine the peanut butter, soy sauce, chili oil, black vinegar, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  3. If the peanut sauce is too thick, reserve 1-2 tablespoons of cooking water from the noodles. Mix this into the sauce to achieve the desired consistency.
  4. Once the noodles are cooked, drain them but do not rinse. Return them to the pot and pour the peanut sauce over, tossing gently to coat.
  5. Serve immediately while hot, drizzling extra chili oil on top and garnishing with cilantro or green onions.
