Ingredients

For the Tea Base
  • 2 bags Black Tea You can use loose leaf tea (2 tsp) for a fresher taste.
  • 4 cups Water Make sure to use filtered water for the best taste.
For the Mango Puree
  • 1 piece Ripe Mango Frozen mango cubes or store-bought mango nectar can be substituted if fresh mangoes aren’t available.
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Adjust to taste; substitute with agave syrup for a vegan option.
For Serving
  • Ice Using large ice cubes helps slow dilution.

Equipment

  • Kettle or saucepan
  • Large pitcher
  • fine mesh strainer

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by boiling 2 cups of water in a kettle or saucepan. Once boiling, pour the hot water into a large pitcher and add 2 black tea bags. Let them steep for about 10 minutes, then remove the bags.
  2. While the tea is steeping, dice one ripe mango and set it aside. In a separate saucepan, add the remaining 2 cups of water along with the diced mango. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes, mashing the mango to create a smooth puree.
  3. Strain the mango puree into the pitcher with the brewed tea using a fine mesh strainer. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of honey to the mixture and stir until dissolved, adjusting sweetness as desired.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature for about 10-15 minutes. Serve over ice in tall glasses, garnished with fresh mango slices.
