Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, and salt. Add the softened butter and mix until the texture resembles coarse crumbs. Press the mixture into the bottom of the pan and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden.
- While the crust bakes, whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and flour until smooth. Fold in the chopped pecans.
- Pour the filling over the baked crust and return to the oven to bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until set and golden.
- Let the bars cool in the pan for about an hour. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt before slicing.
- Use the parchment overhang to lift the bars out of the pan and slice into squares or rectangles.
