  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt Regular salt can be used in lesser amounts.
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated Garlic Fresh garlic is an option.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin Taco seasoning can replace this.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Chili Powder Adjust to taste based on heat preference.
For the Toppings
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Can substitute with vegetable or canola oil.
  • 1 medium Sweet Onion (thinly sliced) Red or yellow onions can be used.
  • 1 medium Red Onion (thinly sliced) Optional, can skip if preferred.
  • 1 cup Sweet Peppers (thinly sliced) Any bell pepper works; jalapeños can add spice.
  • 1 tablespoon Lime Juice Fresh juice is best, but bottled works too.
For Assembly
  • 5 count Buns Can use lettuce wraps as a low-carb option.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium heat (around 350°F / 175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chuck with kosher salt, granulated garlic, ground cumin, and chili powder. Mix gently and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  3. Divide the seasoned meat into five equal portions and shape into patties, making a slight indentation in the center.
  4. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook the sweet onions and peppers for 8-10 minutes until caramelized.
  5. Remove from heat and squeeze fresh lime juice over the veggies.
  6. Grill the patties for about 6 minutes on each side until fully cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  7. Assemble your burgers by placing a patty on a toasted bun, topping with sautéed veggies, and adding your desired toppings.
