Cooking Steps
- Start by bringing a pot of water to a rapid boil over high heat. Once boiling, add your choice of instant or fresh noodles and cook according to package instructions, usually around 3-5 minutes, until just tender but still slightly firm. Drain and rinse the noodles under cold water to halt the cooking process, and set them aside in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, combine the crushed garlic, chopped white parts of the green onions, and a sprinkle of sugar. This fragrant mixture provides a delicious base for your Spicy Gochujang Noodle Soup. Set the mixture aside.
- Heat a drizzle of neutral oil in a medium pot over medium-high heat until shimmering. Carefully pour the hot oil over the garlic and green onion mixture in the bowl, and stir quickly to combine.
- To the infused aromatics, add the gochujang, oyster sauce, light soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Stir everything together thoroughly until it forms a smooth paste.
- Now, pour in the hot broth of your choice and stir well. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes.
- Gently introduce the reserved noodles into the simmering broth, allowing them to warm through for about 1-2 minutes. Stir to ensure even heat distribution.
- Once the noodles are heated, ladle your Spicy Gochujang Noodle Soup into serving bowls. Top with desired garnishes and serve hot.
