Ingredients

For the Truffles
  • 8 ounces Chocolate Truffles Quality chocolate preferred
  • 4 ounces White Chocolate For coating and eye details
For the Decorations
  • 1 cup Candy Eyes Assorted sizes
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips Dark chocolate recommended
  • 1 teaspoon Red Food Coloring Optional for bloodshot effects

Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • parchment paper
  • Cookie scoop

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by placing your chocolate truffles in a heat-safe bowl. Melt them in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until completely smooth.
  2. Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, portion out the melted truffle mixture into bite-sized balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter. Place these truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. While the truffles chill, prepare the white chocolate coating. Melt the white chocolate using the same method, stirring until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
  4. Dip each truffle into the melted white chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off before placing them back on the baking sheet.
  5. Before the white chocolate sets, decorate each truffle with candy eyes, gently pressing them into the surface.
  6. For an eerie touch, mix a small amount of red food coloring with melted chocolate, and drizzle this onto the truffles around the candy eyes.
  7. Once fully decorated and the coating has set, transfer the truffles to a festive platter to serve.
